Mechanistische Studien

Antworten auf die Frage des Wie liefern sogenannte mechanistische Studien, also Studien, die nach dem Mechanismus, wie ein Effekt zustande kommt, fragen.

Beispiel: Genotoxizität

Ein wichtige Rolle in der Glyphosat-Auseinandersetzung spielen die Studien zur Genotoxizität. Das BfR hat in seinem RAR-Addendum darauf bestanden, dass 'unpublished evidence not seen by the IARC WG was overwhelmingly negative' (zitiert nach Portier et al., 2016, Seite 2)

Das ist einer der vielen Minus-Punkte, die man dem BfR ankreiden muss: Die Arbeit mit 'unpublished evidence' hat mit sauberer wissenschaftlicher Auseinandersetzung nichts zu tun. Kein anderer Wissenschaftler, der nicht zum erlauchten BfR-Dunstkreis gehört, kann überprüfen, was behauptet wird.

Aber es gibt zum Thema Genotoxizität tatsächlich ein veröffentlichtes Papier, auf das sich der BfR-Rapport Glyphosat bezieht und der z.B. hier online wiederzufinden ist, in der EFSA-Veröffentlichung "Peer Review Report on Glyphosate", 1.730 Seiten, auf Seite 1.392 wird auf diese Veröffentlichung Bezug genommen: Larry D. Glyphosat hat kein genotoxisches Potential

Das ist die Schlussfolgerung, im Appendix 1: Discusion Table, Glyphosate: "The meeting confirmed that the active substance glyphosate is devoid of genotoxic potential."

... sagt Monsanto

Schaut man sich in dem Kier-Papier die 'Declaration of interest' an (diese mussten sie wohl machen für ein Journal, das mit Impact Factor 5,097 einen relativ guten Ruf zu verteidigen hat - 'Critical Reviews in Toxicology') , steht dort dieses:

"Larry Kier and David Kirkland were paid consultants of the Glyphosate Task Force for the preparation of this review. The Glyphosate Task Force is a consortium of 25 European glyphosate registrants, listed on http://www.glyphosatetaskforce.org/.

Larry Kier is also a past employee of Monsanto Company. Monsanto Company was the original producer and marketer of glyphosate formulations. The authors had sole responsibility for the writing and content of the paper and the interpretations and opinions expressed in the paper are those of the authors and may not necessarily be those of the member companies of the Glyphosate Task Force."

Was wird wohl in einem Vergleich der vom IARC herangezogenen Studien zur Genotoxizität des Glyphosat mit diesem Papier herauskommen? [ ich habe derzeit keine Zeit, diesen Vergleich zu machen ]
